Following on the success of Season 1 of our Pro-Sailing Adventure Vlog, which you can view here, Alexander Ringstad from the Calora Innovation Racing Team and Ollie Hartas from Hartas Productions teamed up again and left the cold and rainy weather of November in Scandinavia, heading for the warm tropical climate of the Caribbean!
The Martinique Flying Regatta was to be held in late November and the boys thought it was a great opportunity to have some more adventures and do soem more sailing!
This time, the trip was supported by the new BlueWorks ONE foil from BlueWorks Inc. in Finland, Varsity Headwear from Norway and, of course, Calora Innovation. The regatta would be the perfect place for Alex to test the new BlueWorks ONE foil, which is the latest foil to hit the Moth market and it is taking the community by storm! This is the most advanced foil ever, and everybody wanted one and this was Alex’s chance to try it out!

The trip was almost three weeks in length, with the regatta being only over 4 days at the end. This meant that there was plenty of time for some adventuring, exploring, boat maintenance and, of course, training!
Alex and Ollie had heaps of adventures during their travels and saw plenty of amazing things including gorgeous views, diving with turtles, coral reefs, crystal clear waters and heaps more!
Unfortunately, an unbelievably poor run of bad luck followed the boys on this trip, including broken boats, broken ribs and robbery at knife-point to name a few. The regatta didn’t quite go as well as they hoped, with almost daily breakages occurring, plus another injury to Alex;broken ribs, which proved a major setback.
Overall, the Alex looks at the event as a great opportunity for training and learning. He was often one of the first boats to the top mark, proving how fast the BlueWorks ONE foil is, so much so that Alex wanted to buy the foil so badly, he already took it home with him!
